Lubuskie Voivodeship is situated in the middle of the western part of Poland and borders on Germany. It occupies the area to the east of rivers – Odra and Nysa Łużycka. Two main towns of the Voivodeship - Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zielona Góra - are respectably 134 and 182 kilometres from Berlin; whereas they are about 450 kilometres from the capital of Poland, Warsaw. The East – West axis decides the development and future of the province. It is crossed by the main communication route connecting Eastern and Western Europe. Being a part of a market, which after the fall of the communistic system underwent great changes, Lubuskie Voivodeship, as the whole country, has strong civilisation aspirations and wants to develop faster.
